Out of everything Ive been exposed to, this has called to me. What literature should I pick up? What's the best way to get started in this? If I am wrong (and I really hope that I am) then I would like to learn as much as possible from the people who grew up with it or know more than me. I've hesitated to even ask in here because I don't want to waste my time if that's how the majority community is. Weve learned a few thing but the biggest being that it seems if you aren't raised in it, good luck. That being said, we've been learning what we can together over the last couple of years. Over the last 10-15 years or so I've been learning tidbits here and there (honestly, I don't know much) and my wife is also heavily interested in this part of her heritage.
Being raised in what was essentially a Christian set of households, I was never exposed to this culture.
